The National Healthy Masculinity Conversation Series

Conversation #1

“Healthy Masculinity and Sexual Violence Risk and Protective Factors”

The first conversation featured:

  • Dr. Sarah DeGue from the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention

  • Dr. Patrick McGann from MCSR.

Many of us are familiar with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s list of factors that increase the risk for perpetration of sexual violence and protective factors that decrease the risk, categorized according to the levels of the social ecological model. This conversation is an opportunity to take a deep dive with Dr. Sarah DeGue – one of the nation’s preeminent experts on sexual violence risk and protective factors – into how healthy masculinity might connect with those factors.
